For those with a more pressing timetable, the process of fitting a crown may take a little too long. Ordinarily, the dentist would take an impression of the patient’s teeth which would be sent to the dental lab to create the crown from the mould. This can take a few days, even up to a couple of weeks.

CEREC is an innovative, state of the art process that enables the dentist to complete treatments like crowns in just a single appointment. No more need for temporary crowns – just cutting edge tooth repair treatment in moments.

CEREC uses modern CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Manufacturing) technology that combines cameras, computers and milling machines to make the process smooth and efficient.

The treatment begins in a similar way – by isolating the tooth and taking a digital impression. This accurate measurement provides the details to create a crown with the perfect shape, height and colour.

The crown is then 3D printed with a CEREC 3D milling machine in our on-site lab. This takes just moments. The dentist then stains and glazes the crown to make it match the colour and appearance of the patient’s existing teeth.

There are several advantages to using CEREC same-day crowns rather than traditional crowns. Firstly, the entire process takes just 90 minutes while you wait, so you can walk in with a dental imperfection and walk out with a perfect smile.

This reduction in time means there is less chance of the tooth impression warping in the time between being taken and arriving at the lab to create the mould. By speeding up the process CEREC creates a more accurate, comfortable and natural-looking fit.

CEREC crowns are naturally strong, long-lasting materials that negate the need for the patient to be careful about the food and drink he or she consumes. There is considerably less risk of the crown breaking than with traditional crowns.

Overall, the patient spends less time in the chair and the procedure is considerably less intrusive and painful than it has been previously.

This cutting edge dentistry is the future of treatments. Natural, long-lasting results can be achieved by less time in the practice and less time in the chair. The future of dentistry begins with CEREC.
